About

Mike Nuckolls, LPC, NCC

After years of volunteer work helping people in impoverished, crisis and traumatic situations all over the world, I decided to make my life's work helping people recover, renew and rediscover their life's potential. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1992 with a BA in economics. After a multi-faceted career in trade magazine publishing, I entered graduate school to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Campbell University in 2003. Following another stint in publishing, I returned to graduate school at Wake Forest University earning a Master of Arts in counseling in 2007. My practice has included work with adults, adolescents, children and families in residential, educational, healthcare, and private practices settings. I have been certified as an Anger Management Treatment Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I am also an adjunct instructor in the online degree program with the Wake Forest University Department of Counseling. In December 2014 I was elected treasurer of the board for the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of North Carolina.

As a native of Winston-Salem, I feel fortunate that my wife, son, and I live close by to family and friends. In my spare time I enjoy creating wood-working projects, building or fixing around the house and yard, working on cars or traveling both near and far.
